One of the most historically important cities in Europe, Athens is the perfect place to begin and end your holiday. Why not give yourself an extra day or two in the city to explore the ancient temples and ruins.
In the evenings this cosmopolitan place comes alive with street entertainments and market stalls, lively bars and excellent restaurants.
Known as the party town of the Cyclades, Mykonos is the place to sip cocktails and rub shoulders with celebrities. The harbour itself is charming and has good facilities for visiting yachts, get in early though to find your space!
In the summer this harbour is bustling with holidaymakers and is home to one of the best churches in the Aegean. There is wonderful Cycladic architecture and lovely tavernas in this town situated in a large sheltered bay on the west coast of Paros.
There are several anchorages and a harbour in this large sheltered bay. The town of Naousa itself has the beautiful white buildings that are characteristic of this area.
The town of Faros has a small quay on the Eastern side of its eponymous bay. It is a pretty, earthy kind of town and well worth a visit.
Vathi, meaning ‘deep’ in Greek, is a sheltered bay and a popular anchorage for yachts. There are two tavernas on the beach.
This is the main ferry port for the island, there is space for some yachts on the quay which has the usual facilities and plenty of space to anchor in the large sandy bay. The location here is spectacular and there is plenty to offer in the resort ashore.
The main port on Serifos has water and electricity on the quay plus good shopping and bakeries. This busy place also has lots of bars and restaurants, it is worth checking out the picturesque village of Chora which guarantees a great view of the Aegean sea.
The capital of the Cylades, Ermoupolis is not the largest town in the islands but nevertheless remains an important cultural hub. The 18th and 19th century architecture is stunning and the quay itself buzzes with many bars, cafes and tavernas to choose from.
