Skipper & Flotilla Family Sailing Holiday: McWhirter Family, July 2013

Well, what  can I say, last year we had a fabulous holiday with you but this year was simply fantastic and truly exceeded all our expectations (which as you know are high!).

The first week with Cameron as skipper was excellent as he was a well mannered, helpful and skilled skipper. In fact Cameron really seemed like an extension to the family but, when required, he read the situation very well,  and removed himself for chill out time. He interacted well with every family member without becoming over familiar or intrusive of our space and I would say to anyone that I could understand the concerns they may have about having a skipper onboard 24/7 but having done it twice now with Island Sailing instructors and skippers, it is actually a great addition to the holiday and gives that added sense of security the first week when getting to know the boat and refreshing your skills, but it is also reassuring to have that extra pair of experienced hands onboard when the winds get up and in the evenings. We would certainly opt again for a skipper next year.

The second week was also very special to us as my sister joined us to celebrate a special birthday but, not just that, it was also great to spend that extra time with you all as part of our small flotilla (or just a group of people having fun) and really added to the enjoyment of our holiday.  Our highlights were testing Jonny’s cooking skills at the beach BBQ and the exercise classes on the bow of Zoi, but really it was all just great fun in a relaxing and beautiful setting with lovely people.

It truly was a fabulous holiday on the water but that extra special last evening and breakfast at Hotel Aigili were the icing on the cake.

We look forward to sailing with you again in the Ionian next year.
