Stari Grad literally translates to ‘old town’ which is fitting as it is the oldest settlement in Croatia dating back to 385 BC, and is known as the historical heart of the island Hvar.

The town is quietly situated in a stunning landscape where the blue of the deep bay touches the luscious green vegetation of land, with vineyards and pretty olive-groves dotted around the village.

Stari Grad, for centuries, has been known to be a safe mooring area for sailors and offers an excellent, well organised village quay for mooring with laid moorings, power and water available for visiting yachts. Explore the narrow streets and small squares and soak in its rich history.
