Yacht Charter in Greece: Summer Update

Clear blue skies, sunshine and sunsets at 9 o’clock in the evening. Winds have been generally N-NW 1-2 in the mornings building to 3-5’s in the afternoon with calm evenings. We have had quite a number of customers this year who have chosen to fly the new route on Saturdays from Stansted to Patras airport with Ryanair – cheaper flights and very reasonable transfers. With the pound getting stronger and stronger against the euro (now well over 10% better than 2011) you can eat and drink for less.

Best Wishes & Happy Sailing!

New for 2012 Ryanair flights for Lefkas yacht charters

There are currently some much better deals than last year on Sunday flights from Gatwick or Manchester to Preveza/Lefkas with prices for many flights starting with a 2 rather than a 3 or a 4! The Ryanair flights from London Stansted on Saturdays to Patras/Araxos are also extremely reasonable, especially for peak season. We can arrange your transfers from any airport for you. Currently return flights in August start from £232 return.

Ionian Weather in August

We have been experiencing some above average temperatures here in the Ionian since June but just this week things seem to have settled back down to usual so today in Lefkas the weather is 31-32C / 88-90F, pure blue skies and sunny. Ionian winds this morning NW 4-10 knots with afternoon winds NW 10-17 knots, dropping in the evening.

And finally… a funny Lefkas flotilla story

We received the following email from one of our customers who had been out on an Ionian flotilla with us 2 weeks earlier:

“Had a laugh today! was sitting with a client when got a call from the lead flotilla boat!!  I had to point out I was now sitting in my office in Glasgow and not on Arista in the sunny Ionian ! Did give us a laugh though and cheered up my day. Just in case of interest still raining here and only 13 degrees, bring back Greece!”
