Island Sailing are delighted to announce a new yacht charter destination offering another ultimate Greek getaway. The new yacht charter base in Greece at Gouvia marina on Corfu is ideally located for the start of a sailing holiday in the Ionian Sea. The new Corfu base offers customers another option in addition to the existing Island Sailing yacht charter base at Lefkas marina.

Sailing from Corfu offers the tantalising prospect of lazy days spent on, off or under the water at secluded anchorages off the tourist track. Tiny islands which are only accessible by boat are just a short hop away from the Corfu charter base, offering all of the Greek charm you can expect from small islands that are untouched by mass tourism. Bustling waterfront towns, ancient Greek sites, pretty fishing villages are just a few examples of the diverse destinations that can all be visited from this new sailing holiday base.

Both sailors and non sailors alike can enjoy sailing from Corfu on either a bareboat charter, skippered yacht charter or flotilla sailing holiday, with sailing yachts ranging from 28 feet to 46 feet as well as brand new 40 foot motor cruisers. Brand new sailing yachts including the new Farr/BMW designed Bavaria 32 cruiser and the new Bavaria 36 cruiser plus the 28 foot Aloa sailing yachts plus the brand new OCC 40.2 motor yacht.

The Ionian sea is ideal for protected and scenic coastal cruising as well as more adventurous sailing alike. The winds are predictable, generally ranging from 10 to 20 knots (11-23 Mph) and summer temperatures average 24 to 29 C (75-84 F).
