How a Learn to Sail Holiday works

Complete beginners and novices can learn to sail, safe in the knowledge that an experienced skipper is on hand so you can learn the basics of sailing and get the most from your sailing holiday.

Sail on a modern yacht at your own pace, drop anchor for a swim or snorkel in the clear warm waters. Explore coves, beaches and tranquil bays and discover pretty towns and breath-taking scenery. During the week you will visit all the best ports, harbours, bays, beaches and restaurants.

Your friendly and professional skipper will provide informal sailing tuition and ensure that you have a gentle introduction to sailing in a relaxed, safe and fun way. There may be some of you who want to learn and practice more than others and that’s OK.

Exclusive use of a yacht with private sailing tuition

The skippers can provide informal sailing tuition for couples, families and groups of friends. Private tuition means you don’t have to share a boat with people you don’t know.

The Yachts

Your Skipper

All the skippers are talented sailors who have been chosen for their professional and friendly approach. They provide professional support and a personal service throughout the holiday and with lots of local knowledge they can give you tips and advice and make recommendations so you get the most out of your holiday in Croatia.

They all enjoy sharing their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for sailing whilst making sure you have a fun and relaxing sailing holiday. They have taught sailing to people of all ages and abilities and will ensure you enjoy a valuable learning experience as well as a unique holiday.

When hiring a skipper they will need a cabin onboard and you are responsible for their food. You simply need to include them in your plans for food and drinks onboard.  In the evening you can choose to invite them out with you or cover their inexpensive meal if you prefer to dine alone. All the skippers are extremely professional and personable and provide discreet and unobtrusive assistance throughout your yacht charter.  Our customers find that their skipper makes their holiday something really extra special as they become welcome additions on the yachts they sail.

The marina yacht base is in close proximity to Split airport - just a 15-20 minute drive away and we can organise transfers for you. The full service marina has all the shops and facilities you need at the start and end of your yacht charter.

In Croatia you will generally pay to moor each night in a marina, harbour or sometimes on a mooring buoy. There are also some bays where you can moor for free and take your dinghy ashore. We cover the cost of mooring fees at our first class marina yacht bases at the start and end of your charter and for the rest of your holiday mooring fees depend on the size of the yacht and location, but can be anywhere from £20 to £100 per night. The benefit is a guaranteed mooring space which your skipper can book for you in advance with power and water as well as great shore based facilities.

Prices & How to Book

Prices are per yacht per week and include exclusive use of a fully equipped modern yacht with 7 nights onboard, mooring fees on the first and last night at the marina base and free WI-FI (70 GB per week). Choose your yacht and add €1050 for your skipper per week. 

In Croatia you will generally pay to moor each night in a marina, harbour or sometimes on a mooring buoy. However, you generally pay less for flights to Croatia than to Greece. There are also some bays where you can moor for free and take your dinghy ashore. We cover the cost of mooring fees at our first class marina yacht bases at the start and end of your charter and for the rest of your holiday mooring fees depend on the size of the yacht and route, but as a guide, marinas will cost around £1.50 per foot per night, town quays and mooring buoys will cost around £1.00 per foot per night.
