We offer some of the best flotilla routes in the Mediterranean on fantastic yachts for a great mix of clients. 

Our key flotilla sailing season starts at the end of June until early - mid September and and therefore open to those in further/higher education. Island Sailing is committed to encouraging and supporting the development of our teams’ careers within the yachting industry and many of our flotilla crews have progressed onto some amazing positions within the yachting and marine sector.

About the Role

Our Lead Flotilla Crew consist of experienced Yachtmaster sailors and a first mate/host or hostess working as a team to offer the highest level of customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable sailing environment at all times.

In this fulfilling and exciting role you will help to lead a group of the newest yachts available around the Ionian islands, providing daily briefings, sharing knowledge of the local area and answering sailing questions.  You will advise customers sailing in your flotilla about safety and yacht equipment and help to ensure all the yachts are moored safely at the end of each day.

You will assist with completing basic routine yacht checks and be responsible for ensuring all yachts have been prepared to the highest standards by our yacht turnaround crew, checking quality of presentation is first class each week in readiness for the clients' arrival. You will arrange group evening meals and social events such as beach BBQ’s, mini races and regattas.

About You

Essential:

  • RYA Day Skipper practical or International Certificate of Competence (ICC) or higher
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Ability to work as a reliable and flexible member of the team as well as independently
  • Be highly motivated
  • Competent swimmer
  • First class communication skills both in person, on the telephone and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Fluent English

Please note that due to the nature of our business, this role involves working flexible work patterns and will require working weekends and/or evenings on a rotational basis.  Applicants should be at least 18 years old and hold an EU passport.
