With a passion for sailing and a love for the Greek islands Island Sailing is a British fully accredited RYA Training Centre offering a comprehensive range of practical RYA sailing courses from our base on Lefkas, Greece as well as online RYA theory courses. We also offer the best selection of modern cruising yachts in the Ionian islands, the ArgoSaronic Gulf and the Cyclades islands from 31 – 55 feet for bareboat, skippered charter and flotilla sailing.  We offer some of the best sailing conditions in the Mediterranean on fantastic yachts for a great mix of clients.
 
Our season starts in May and ends in October. Whilst some of the opportunities we have are for the full season we also have opportunities for those available during high season only which may be more suited to those in higher education. About the Role

Our Cruising Instructor/Skippers work as part of a dedicated team to offer RYA sailing courses and skippered charters.  In this fulfilling role you will be responsible for providing professional instruction to all levels from Start Yachting to Day Skipper and skippering charters on modern sailing yachts up to 55 feet ensuring a safe and enjoyable sailing environment and the highest level of customer service at all times. All RYA sailing courses run from our base at Lefkas marina and skippered charters are from Lefkas marina and Alimos marina in Athens. Working as part of an enthusiastic team you will also offer support at base when not training or on charter.

About You

Essential:

  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence
  • Commercial Endorsement
  • RYA Cruising Instructor
  • VHF (restricted) operators licence
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Basic Sea Survival
  • ENG 1 or ML5
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation
  • Ability to work as a reliable and flexible member of the team
  • Highly motivated
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sociable and positive personality
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Fluent English

Working hours vary and you must be flexible to cover operational requirements. This role involves working flexible work patterns and will require working weekends and/or evenings from bases at Lefkas and Athens on a rotational basis. Applicants should hold an EU passport.
