6 miles from Dubrovnik, Cavtat offers a less busy alternative in a quaint town with some excellent nearby beaches.
There are two options for mooring at Dubrovnik, the town quay at Gruz which is stern to with an anchor, the main marina at Dubrovnik is well equipped, radio in advance to reserve a space.
Uvala Kosmec opens from the NW making it exposed to the prevailing wind but on a still day there is good holding.
Luka on the West side of the island is the biggest village on the island, you can park stern to on the quay. Suourad on the SE is smaller but has a few spaces on the quay.
There are two anchorages on Lpoud, Uvala Lopud on the north coast has more facilities and good holding, however Uvala Sunj provides better shelter from the prevailing wind.
Donje Celo on the NW of the island is an anchorage but it is sometimes possible to use the ferry quay overnight.
While not one of the more beautiful or historical on the coast the busy commercial harbour of Ploče can be a useful stop for provisioning.
The long inlet at Ston on the Southern end of the Pelješac Peninsula offers great shelter but the holding is not great, it is therefore advisable to use the quay if there is space.
