Sailing Area & MooringThe sailing area from Athens is exciting, beautiful, vast and diverse. For more sheltered waters the Saronic Gulf and islands offer fun yet more relaxed sailing than the Cyclades islands. For those with an accomplished skipper and full crew of experienced sailors wanting far more challenging open sea and much longer passages the Cyclades islands will appeal. The white washed houses in the Aegean and clear turquoise water resemble the traditional ideal that most people picture when they think of Greece, however each island has its own unique charm. Mooring around the Greek islands is usually free. Mooring at the full-service marina yacht base in Athens plus power and water is included in the yacht charter price. During your charter you will generally moor each night in a small harbour or town quay without charge. There are also some bays where you can moor for free and take your dinghy ashore. There are only a handful of places in the entire sailing area where mooring fees are due and we can advise you of these before you set sail. |
